Camping/Hotels: Seeing Lodging Page

Rules: Basic riding rules and etiquette, of course. Full details coming in ride bible early 2023

Dogs: You are in a rural community with a lot of farms and some of these farms/homes have dogs that are off-leash. We have ridden this ride numerous times and the dogs that do come out to greet us have not been aggressive. They, however, may get in your way. Please be cautious, ride in a straight line, and please do not yell, throw things, or spray water at them. We have had good luck just talking to them as we ride by. It’s not a lot of dogs, but it is more than a couple.

Buddy the Blue Heeler: As many of you now know, Buddy the Blue Heeler will follow you. Last year we had reports of him at least 10-miles from his home. Buddy is a sweet dog, who just likes to run. Don’t worry about him. We have been riding with Buddy for at least 5-years now and he always finds his way home. In fact we love Buddy so much, we’re designing some cool new swag inspired by him.

What to bring:
1. Food & Drink: Once you get into Alabama there are very few places to refuel, so make sure you bring enough for a five hour ride. We will have the food stop mid-way, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
2. Spare tubes, pump/CO2 cartridges. We highly recommend tubeless tires. Several of the roads are very rough with baby head doll exposed boulders, plus several creek crossings.
3. GPS and a downloaded route: We highly, highly recommend you download the route. You are on your own to know how to get back to the finish.
4. A smile.

Registration: Opens December 12, 2022

This year’s ride will be sanctioned with USA Cycling, however just to be clear, you understand that you are riding on public roads (paved and not) and there are inherent dangers of riding your bicycle on them and that YOU ARE RIDING AT YOUR OWN RISK and by participating you accept those risks. You are ultimately responsible for your own personal safety.

Sorry for the delay, here is the 2023 Final 75-mile route.
